Do You Stand on His Word?

The Word of God, the Bible, has not changed. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever,” wrote the Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 40:8).

In the Psalms we read, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).

When God created Adam and Eve, another person was in Paradise—the devil. When the devil decided to tempt Adam and Eve, the first thing he said to the woman was, “Has God indeed said … ?” (Genesis 3:1).

The devil put that doubt there, and today he also asks us, “Can you trust the Bible? Can you trust the Word of God?” Scripture is God’s revealed Word. This is God’s message to mankind. I believe it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. When we read it, when we study it, we are reading what God wants us to know.

Prayer:
Dearest Lord, thank You for giving us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of You that we gain from the Bible and the promises therein (2 Peter 1:3–4). Please give me a hunger and a thirst to get to know You more through reading and studying Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
