Serving God Through Mission Work

Early Morning With God (EMWG).
Morning Devotion from the Desk of Emma Deekor

Bible Reading: Mark 6:7-12.

Text: Luke 10:2 KJV
"Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."

The assignment concerning propagation of the gospel is enormous. You are now a believer. You are supposed to tell someone about your new found salvation. Please don't be selfish.

Hear what Jesus said in our text scripture: the harvest is many but those to gather the yield are few. Why not join the train of the Mission field. That is what brings the crown of glory we discussed earlier yesterday. Not sitting down in your comfort zone.
Remember, someone talked to you about Christ.

Well, if you feel you cannot physically go to the mission field then do the following: pray for the missionaries, make provisions for them out of your resources and contribute to their projects of building  places of worship.

The bible enjoins us to pray for all peoples (I Tim. 2:1-5), and I am reminding you to do so to especially the Missionaries. In verse one it is written:
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;" including missionaries.

You can also provide for their needs. Mind you, they have needs and their families too. They normally leave their families behind. Consider their well-being. Paul talk much about this in Philippians 4:15-19.

Finally, you can contribute to mission projects like building places of worship. In Nehemiah 2:20 KJV,  Nehemiah said:
"Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem."

The blessings God is giving you is to be used for His work. Invest in God's kingdom and await the glorious reward ( Revelation 22:12).

Remain blessed and enjoy the holidays.
