Boring Cliche: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

What would Jesus do? Is a worldwide tag believers identify with. Yea, I’ll tell you what Jesus would do. He will answer a fool according to his folly, and he will answer not a fool according to his folly. Same chapter 26 in the book of proverbs, verses 5 and 4 respectively. And that was the secret Jesus had with God. Ever dynamic! You can’t have him cornered.

Certain Pharisees came to him – Get thee out, and depart hence; for Herod will kill thee. Replying, Jesus said- Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day, I shall be perfected. Luke 13:32.

Even though the laying down of my life will happen someday, I won’t spend one second of my leading moments worrying about the threats of men. Go tell him I’ll be about my father’s business come hades or high water.

Two things are to be done as the proverb text suggest. It could be a tripartite consideration or even more in some other instances. Knowing just when, why and how to do what, is the prerogative of divinity that escapes the mind. The natural persons stumble at these cross roads, leaning on the “rush of emotions”. So Jesus left us instructions to work with in  John 16:13.

''But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come''.

The Holy Spirit guiding us into all truth as He guided him. I really believe it’s about time we get it right. The point I’ll ever know like Jesus is the act – like point of surrendering. The possibility of us being like Him was His reason for living a simple life.

In other words what you see the Father do too, is what to do! Beyond the inability to practically do so now, I should just stick strictly with what He, the master tells in His Word till I am able to fill His shoes, knowing He cannot tell me I can do what He knows I never can.

The question now is, “why am I mixing what He told me with what He is telling me?”  Today is the day of salvation. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a promise. You are not in vogue with the latest proceedings in divinity is the only reason why you are still past guided.

Hey!, what he told you lost work-ability requirements when the recipient died. Four days not more!, you move in as instructed or Lazarus stays dead.

Same goes with business or whatsoever a whosoever “you” must attend in perfect time for undeniable result. Now God is saying something else, or you expect Him worrying over spilled milk? He can put it all back if He wants to but it’s not about Him, it’s about you.

Your “not here, not there” disposition is as a result of the old and the new wine struggling in your members. “Behold I do a new thing” is what God is saying. Let go the old. Your mind is as divided as the old and new things you are bringing to the table. Your old thoughts are your most recent enemies. They are the anti-flight weights, hidden as doubts. How? As your comfort zone of course!

Where you go hiding to avoid facing the unknown territory that’s so scary – attached to the new thoughts. The Hitler’s blew up bridges for one reason. To prevent soldiers from running back to their old grounds in the heat of fire. As long as your old system remains an option, you will always find a reason to retreat. That means, you will never be that force you were created to be.

David believed God and not the style. He ended up using sword as a weapon. The same he couldn’t dare to wield before Goliath as a boy. He grew out of it. Your old system is not your wife or your hubby. Break free in the name of Jesus!

Its time to move on. You distort time and the magic of change it carries by insisting to meet again and again the way you used to. The past is done.

Hey!, times have truly changed. The new experienced Goliath will joyfully butcher any David with a sling. Its time to rebuke your head contents. God is doing a new thing in your life.

PRAY! Your ministering angel is provoked at the sound of your voice. (Do not make a covenant with them or with their gods. 33 Do not let them live in your land or they will cause you to sin against me, because the worship of their gods will certainly be a snare to you.”Exodus 23:32). Over what?... BORING CLICHES! And for the record, only your angel can take you to your promised land.

Dear LORD, make me sensitive to your words coming through Your angel at all times. I receive grace to be responsible for my new life as I step out of my comfort zone practically and in faith in the name of Jesus.
